Tee Off on Chicago’s Finest Fairways
Chicago Golf Club
Built in 1893, the Chicago Golf Club is one of the original five golf clubs that founded the United States Golf Association. This private golf club in Wheaton, Illinois is one of the oldest golf courses in North America. As golfers try to land their best ball on the putting green, they continually notice the shallow bunkers and steep valley slopes Seth Raynor, one of the course architect’s, has built in the layout’s design. The layout also mimics a traditional links-style course commonly found in golf courses within the UK. According to Golf Digest, the Chicago Golf Club is listed as one of America’s Best 100 Golf Courses to play and it is definitely one of the more exclusive courses to get invited to play.

Shoreacres
Located only 25 miles north of Chicago, Shoreacres stretches alongside the north shore providing exquisite greens and noteworthy views. According to Top 100 Courses, Shoreacres is the 38th best course in the United states and 76th best course in the world. Another Raynor designed course, Shoreacres is renown for its beautiful nature settings. Although the fairways are shorter than most courses, the challenge lies in the gullies and ravines that shape the layout. With amazingly stunning topography, it is no wonder why golfers end their games at the classic clubhouse that overlooks Lake Michigan. It is every golfers dream to play at this pristine private course.

Simply Score a Birdie On a Fast Challenging Course
Blackstone Golf Club
There are several reasons why the Blackstone Golf Club made Golf Advisor’s list for being the Top 25 Courses in Illinois. One of the reasons golfers recommend playing their 18-hole course is the fact that the fee is reasonable. Not only is Blackstone Golf Club a public course, but becoming a member is a lot easier than chipping your ball out of a bunker. They are currently offering no initiation fee or monthly dues. Many previous golfers reviewed that the greens are fast, mostly due to the fact that many of the holes are par 5’s. Yet do not let this fool you; even the most seasoned golfers have stated that the large rolling hills have made for a challenging course. An upgraded feature of the club include golf carts with a GPS system, which is a nice perk for a course that costs less than $60 to play.
